About Constructing Confidence: Roles, Generation and Gender Communication

Do you speak all of the languages on your construction team? Not Spanish or Greek, but rather aligning with your team. In this interactive workshop, we’ll break down how job roles, generational viewpoints, and gender-based communication styles influence how people give and receive information. You’ll walk away with insights you can immediately apply to boost teamwork, clarity, and productivity.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Identify common construction roles and how each contributes to communication flow.
  • Differentiate how generations prefer to communicate on the job.
  • Recognize key verbal and non-verbal communication differences across genders.

Dr. Koch, who holds a PhD in education and has over 20 years of field experience in commercial and industrial construction, previously served as a faculty member at Purdue University’s School of Construction Management.
